Motorcycle service software is sold anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand lira a month. The advertised figure is rarely what you pay: per-user fees, module fees, setup charges and message costs can double the total.
This post covers how the pricing is built, which line items get hidden, and how to work out the real two-year cost.
Pricing models
One-off licence. Found in installed software. You pay once and the program is yours. But updates are usually sold separately, backups are your job, and a second computer generally needs a second licence.
Per-user subscription. The common model. "₺X per user per month." In a workshop with three mechanics the price triples. It punishes growth.
Tiered packages. Split into Starter, Professional and Enterprise. If the one feature you need sits in the top tier, you pay three times over. The tier is usually set by work order volume or user count.
Single flat plan. Everyone gets the same thing at the same price. Easy to calculate, does not punish growth. Ridebase Garage uses this model: ₺1,299 + VAT monthly, ₺3,990 + VAT annually.
The hidden line items
When you look at an advertised price, ask about these six separately:
| Item | Typical range | Why it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Per-user fee | ₺100–400/month | Every new mechanic grows the bill |
| Setup / training | ₺2,000–10,000 one-off | Arrives as a "starter package" |
| Data migration | ₺1,500–5,000 | To carry over old records |
| Module fees | ₺200–600/month | Finance, inventory or reporting sold separately |
| SMS / WhatsApp | ₺0.20–1.00 per message | Grows as you send reminders |
| Support plan | ₺300–800/month | "Priority support" priced separately |
Not all six show up at once. But even two of them change the arithmetic.
The real two-year cost
An example for a workshop with three mechanics sending 200 reminders a month. The figures are illustrative — fill in the same table with your own quotes.
Product A — "from ₺600 a month"
- Subscription: ₺600 × 24 months = ₺14,400
- Per-user (2 extra mechanics × ₺150): ₺300 × 24 = ₺7,200
- Setup + training: ₺4,000
- Finance module: ₺250 × 24 = ₺6,000
- SMS (200/month × ₺0.40): ₺80 × 24 = ₺1,920
- Total: ₺33,520 → real monthly cost ₺1,397
Product B — "₺1,299 a month, single plan"
- Subscription: ₺1,299 × 24 = ₺31,176
- Users, modules, setup, messages: ₺0
- Total: ₺31,176 → real monthly cost ₺1,299
The advertised gap between ₺600 and ₺1,299 is more than twofold. After two years the gap is gone. Compare on advertised price and you will pick the wrong product.
Does paying annually make sense?
Annual payment usually buys two months off. It makes sense on two conditions: you move to annual after trialling, and the provider allows data export.
Paying a year up front without ever using it means committing to software that may not fit. Run one month on monthly billing; if the mechanics adopt it, switch to annual.
Where does the money come from?
What does software at ₺1,299 a month have to do to pay for itself? Any one of three things is enough:
- One more job. If an average job is ₺1,500, a single extra job a month covers it. A service reminder alone delivers that.
- Preventing lost parts. In a workshop with no stock records, parts that go missing or get forgotten easily reach that figure monthly.
- Correcting a mispriced job. A quote given without knowing the parts cost can turn a job into a loss. We worked an example in the profitability post.
Before you ask for a quote
When requesting quotes, give three facts or you will not get comparable numbers: how many users, how many work orders a month, whether you will send reminders. Then ask every provider for a 24-month total — not a monthly rate.
We collected the selection criteria into ten points; price is the ninth. Picking on price alone means ignoring the other nine.
